Lyrics
(by OziBattler)
I know
I hear you
I can see what this
Means to you
But don’t you see what you’re doing
Understand the effect
Going down that path will only lead to regret
Move On
Let it Go
Move on
It’s not worth it
Move On
Let it Go
Move on
Be better than that
It’s wrong
It’s not fair
I know that you think
No one cares
But you don’t see all sides
You can’t see the whole scene
You just don’t know how much is
Is unknown un-foreseen
Move On
Let it Go
Move on
It’s not worth it
Move On
Let it Go
Move on
Be better than that
Right now it seems to be
The one thing that matters most
But this time will soon pass
You just need find it in yourself to
Let it go
Please
Let it go
Move on
Please
Let it go
Please
Let it go
Please
A Plead to just let things be and move on. Has nothing at all to do with princesses or fairy tales.
This song is an acoustic riff that grew. And, that is how the song is now. Opening with the original acoustic riff, the song builds with bass, then guitar, and even some keyboard toward the end.
The lyrics started with the chorus, with the plead to just move on, and let it go. Once the theme of the song became evident, then the rest of the song kinda wrote itself. And it's very deliberate that I never mention what they need to move on from. But, it's really intended to apply universally to many situations that everyone can relate to.

This song lived with just the basic chords for a long time. Unfortunately, the chorus just didn't have the impact that it should, so one night I decided to just try experimenting with lead guitar over the top. Now, the song just doesn't work without it! This is no flashy guitar technical work (it can't be, I can't do that...). It's long and simple high gain noise, meant to evoke a feeling, and serve the song.
